So you’re asking…what is a Condom?

Condoms are available for both male and female. They are a barrier contraceptive that prevents male sperm from reaching and fertilizing the female egg. Condoms are available in latex, polyurethane, and lambskin. Male condoms are 98 percent effective against pregnancy if used correctly. Female condoms are about 95 percent effective against pregnancy if used correctly.

Lambskin is still available. Lambskin condoms have been around the longest time. Many males still use these because they have a more natural feeling when used or because they may have had an allergic reaction to other types. Synthetic condoms better prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases and infection. Additionally, condoms made from lambskin are more expensive.

And this is how a condom works!

Condoms block male sperm from fertilizing the female egg. They create a barrier that makes sure fertilization does not occur. Condoms come in many different types on material such as thin latex rubber or polyurethane additionally male condoms provide a lubricant for use and a spermicidal to destroy the sperm.

For a condom to effectively prevent conception averting an unexpected pregnancy, the male penis must be protected from the vagina by a condom. Sperm can be present even before a male ejaculates from his penis.

Experts recommend using condoms to greatly reduce or stop the spread of sexually transmitted diseases and infections. Oral sex can also be a method of transmitting disease. Be sure to put on the condom correctly before having any sex and carefully removed as soon as the male has ejaculation.
